Outlook Upbeat For N.C. Track In Whelen All-American Series
By Andy Marquis, Special To NASCARHomeTracks.com
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — New is the operative word for 2015 at Southern National Motorsports Park.
The offseason brought sweeping changes to the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track in Lucama, North Carolina, and re-energized the racing and brought Southern National into an era of resurgence.
Langley Austin, the founder of short track racing website RACE22.com, was brought in as the promoter by track owner Mike Diaz during the offseason. Austin implemented a series of changes headlined by the merging of the track’s late model and limited late model classes.
