Bounces Back From Accident To Score Key Desafio Victory
Official Release
MEXICO CITY — Rubén García Jr. nearly saw his championship dreams come to a crashing halt.
In the end, however, the 19-year-old NASCAR Next driver wound up in Victory Lane and maintained his position atop the NASCAR Mexico Series. His victory in Saturday’s Red Cola 240 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez was his third of the year and second of the five-race Desafio.
García’s No. 88 Canels/Scotiabank/HDI Toyota led just four laps all day but was able to get past teammate Rafael Martinez with three laps to go to secure the victory.
